About me

Hello, I am Katarina Fijala.

  • I am Croatian, was born in Germany and grew up there bilingually.
  • I successfully passed my first state examination to become a secondary school teacher at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main in 2010.
This was followed by the second state examination.
Accordingly, my sound knowledge of pedagogy, psychology and methodology, which I need for my work, is based on my studies.
  • In 2015, I fulfilled a long-awaited dream and moved to Croatia, to the beautiful seaside resort of Medulin.
  • It is my passion to teach guests from German-speaking countries the basics of the Croatian language or to expand their existing knowledge so that communication is improved.
  • My private lessons are aimed at all people who are on vacation in the municipality of Medulin or even thinking about staying in Medulin for a longer period of time. The lessons are suitable for adults and pupils from the 5th grade .
  • If you make an appointment with me, I will come to the address you provide.
It is also possible for us to meet at another location.
The condition is that it is a location within the municipality of Medulin.
  • If you are not in Medulin and the surrounding area, we can also arrange appointments via video app.
  • I also offer tutoring in German and English (5th-8th grade) for Croatian native speakers.
Translations (without certification) and proofreading for the German language are also possible.
I have specialized mainly in the field of tourism with all its offers, as this is where I have gained the most experience.
Other subject areas are not excluded.
  • I look forward to your inquiry

Croatia

A jewel on the Adriatic

Croatia enchants with a unique blend of natural wonders, historical heritage, and cultural diversity. Every part of Croatia has its own special charm:
The Adriatic coast, with its crystal-clear waters and over 1,000 islands, is a paradise for sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts. Dalmatia fascinates with its breathtaking coastal landscapes, charming cities like Split and Zadar, and historical sites, making the region a unique destination for culture and nature lovers. Inland, Croatia delights with untouched nature and historical landmarks. The Plitvice Lakes National Park, with its turquoise lakes and waterfalls, is one of Europe’s greatest natural wonders. The Istrian region impresses with picturesque villages, vineyards, and Mediterranean cuisine, while the green hinterland of Slavonia, with its gentle hills, vast fields, and historic towns, invites exploration.
Let yourself be enchanted by this beautiful country!
